Dr. Sunoor Verma is a highly engaging and sought-after speaker renowned for his insightful perspectives on global health, international relations, development, and humanitarian issues. With a diverse background that includes seven years as a heart surgeon, successful entrepreneurship, and extensive experience as a strategy expert for development and humanitarian organizations, Dr. Verma brings a unique and valuable perspective to every speaking engagement.

 

Having lived and worked in eleven countries since age two, Dr. Verma’s global perspective and experiences make him a dynamic and captivating speaker. He is often invited to speak at prestigious events and conferences worldwide, sharing his expertise and inspiring audiences to grow and rise to new challenges. As a male feminist, Dr. Verma is frequently invited to participate in all-female panels, such as the Graduate Women International annual summit in Geneva 2019. He was the only male speaker on his panel at the ORF’s Kigali Global Dialogue in 2023.

 

An underlying theme of Dr. Verma’s talks is the importance of understanding the concept of interdependency over independence. As a person of colour, he brings a different perspective to his discussions, addressing power asymmetry not only from a theoretical perspective gained through his work in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and minority issues but also as someone from a low-income country who maintains his original citizenship and passport while working with people from diverse backgrounds.

 

In addition to his speaking engagements, Dr Verma is the series editor and concept creator of the 11-book Namaste Series of inspiring stories from the global south. He believes in the power of inspiration from local stories. He incorporates this belief into his talks, giving audiences valuable insights and inspiration from his rich and varied experiences.

In addition to his speaking engagements, Dr. Verma has also served as a Course Director for Boston University’s Study Abroad Program in Geneva, where he developed and delivered credit-bearing programs on international health.
